World Mental Health Day:
14th October 2006
Horley Town Mayor Simon Marshall visits the Art Matters Studio, Horley.

Wednesday, October 10th was World Mental Health Day.

Events took place across the country to mark the day that aims to promote mental health awareness and challenge stigma and social exclusion.

Horleys Town Mayor, Councillor Simon Marshall, visited Art Matters with members of his family and friends, created his own ‘sand mandala’, tried his hand at silkscreen printing and contributed to a piece entitled ‘One in Four’.

The Mayor was presented with a sand mandala kit and a ‘voucher’ for a sand mandala workshop giving the opportunity to a community group of the Mayor’s choice to experience and learn more about this ancient creative tradition.

Art Matters are part of the Richmond Fellowship, and are based at the Gatwick Metro Centre in Horley and are currently looking for new premises for the project.
